What is the little small square black box on the top of my dashboard?
i have a small square black box on the left hand corner of my upper dash board. it has a wire and is going under the hood....no other chev cobalts have this.
i know the dealer put a gps on the car in case i dont make payments that can actually shut off the car!! but i would think it wouldn't be to smart of him to show me where it is.
does anyone know what this could be?
I was going to guess automatic headlite or climate control sensor but it would not have wiring trails- the factory would have hidden that. As soon as you stated gps, it made alot more sense as that is not the brains of the system that he installed- that part is put away and he can disable your car if you fall behind if this is the system that I think that it is. The part on the dash is likely the communication unit to and from the gps and taking it off improperly will more than likely shut down your ignition or electrical to the fuel system.
